Technical Improvements Range

Design: All Models received the 2002 Factory-Look - “All Orange”. Re-designed front fender for better protection. All black, one piece seat covers. Frames, hubs, fork tubs and handlebars in new “gold-color”. All EXC-Models with new slim fuel tank and SX-shrouds

Specific Improvements per Model

125 / 200 EXC New shift roller for easier power shifting Wider and stronger 2nd gear. 200 EXC Lighter and new balanced crankshaft for better throttle response. Molded silicone ring cylinder head sealing 250 / 300 EXC Altered exhaust port to increase piston ring lifespan. New designed cylinder head for even further improved engine character. 250 EXC Racing Cylinder head with 37mm intake, Keihin FCR-MX 37 carburetor, new valve springs for higher rpm´s and additional power output. 450 EXC Racing Increased power output over the whole rpm-range compared to last year´s 400 EXC (equal bore but extended stroke from 64 to 72 mm).

525 MXC Desert Racing Due to the demand of a 525 EXC version for european rally purposes, an European specification of the 525 MXC is to be introduced for the very first time in model year 2003. In technical terms the 525 MXC is identical to the 525 EXC. It has a larger 13 litre fuel tank, van, and a corresponding seat suited to long distance riding.

Models 125 SX 525 SX Racing 4-Stroke

Technical Improvements: Fork: WP 48mm USD fork (preload adjuster) with remarkable improved response due to new bushes (3), new coating, change of sealing and fork oil. Shock: Increased oil capacity and more progressive setting. Brakes: Rear brake calliper with 2mm reduced piston (26mm) for better control. Clutch Hose: Flexible steel clutch hose for less friction and better protection.

Hubs: Larger and stronger hubs on both wheels plus a thicker front axle for more accurate steering

Design: All Models received the 2002 GP-Look - “All Orange” factory graphics. Re-designed front fender for better protection. All black, one piece seat covers. Frames, hubs, fork tubs and handlebars in new “gold-color”. Modified front race number plate with integrated brake hose guide.

Specific Improvements per Model

125 SX New 5 speed gear box with wider and stronger 2nd gear. New shift roller for easier power shifting. Conified Renthal handlebar. 14 mm change of the fork plate offset for quicker steering

525 SX Racing 4-Stroke Crankshaft and balancer are slimmed-down (800g) for increased power delivery, throttle response and better handling. Weight reduced clutch basket (100gram). Engine weight reduced by 500 Gram due to new cast process. 500 g lighter ignition system for better throttle response Total Engine weight reduction: 1,9 kgs New Carburettor with integrated and sealed accelerator pump mechanism and Hot-Start button. Cylinder head with new 41mm ports, new designed single camshaft and new valve springs for better reving.

50 Mini Adventure Separate lubrication(external oil tank and oil pump) The 14 mm carburetor is replaced by a 12 mm carburetor. New more wear resistant steering head bearing. 50 Junior / Senior Adventure New more wear resistant steering head bearing. 50 SX Pro Junior LC / 50 SX Pro Senior LC New more wear resistant steering head bearing. For better handling the Pro Senior features 12-inch rims. Redesigned cylinder head. Stronger water pump shaft.

65 SX Increased displacement from 63,6 to 64,9 cc. Digital ignition system and new aluminium ignition cover. New easier to operate aluminium kick starter. New handlebar with cross bar.
